Action, Racing, Puzzles, and Dodgeball Await!
Prepare for a nostalgic trip back to the early 90s! Nintendo has unveiled four SNES gems, offering a diverse mix of genres to enhance the already impressive Expansion Pack library.
First up, the legendary crossover: Battletoads/Double Dragon. This iconic beat 'em up unites the brawling Battletoads and the Double Dragon brothers in a fight against the Dark Queen and her Shadow Warriors. Choose from five playable characters – the Double Dragon duo, Billy and Jimmy Lee, and the amphibious trio, Zitz, Pimple, and Rash.
Originally released on NES in June 1993 and later ported to SNES in December of the same year, this marks a long-awaited re-release for many.
Next, get ready for some dodgeball mayhem with Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shūgō! (Super Dodgeball in the West). This fast-paced title features Kunio-kun from the River City series, challenging players to dominate the courts against global rivals. Diverse locations, from indoor arenas to outdoor beaches, add strategic depth.
Initially launched on Super Famicom in August 1993.
Puzzle enthusiasts will appreciate Cosmo Gang the Puzzle. This strategic puzzler, reminiscent of Tetris and Puyo Puyo, requires clearing lines of containers and Cosmos to score points. Three modes cater to different playstyles: 1P Mode (solo high score chase), VS Mode (head-to-head competition), and 100 Stage Mode (increasingly difficult challenges). Line up containers horizontally and utilize blue orbs to remove Cosmos.
Initially released in arcades in 1992, then ported to Super Famicom in 1993, it has seen re-releases on various platforms, including the Wii, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
Finally, experience the thrill of Big Run, a high-octane racing game. Race across diverse African terrains, from Tripoli to West Africa's swamps, across nine challenging stages. Strategic choices are crucial – selecting sponsors, building your team, and managing resources are key to victory.
Big Run originally debuted on Super Famicom in 1991.
This September's additions significantly expand the Nintendo Switch Online's appeal. Whether you prefer brawling, racing, puzzling, or dodgeball, this update has something for every player.
