New Nintendo Switch

Author: Caleb Jan 19,2025

Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, I'm moving on to new adventures. But before I go, let's celebrate with a jam-packed edition featuring reviews, new release summaries, and sales info.

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Imagineer's Fitness Boxing series continues with a Hatsune Miku collaboration. This Joy-Con-only title blends boxing and rhythm game mechanics for a fun workout. It includes Miku-specific modes alongside standard routines, offering customizable difficulty, free training, and cosmetic unlocks. While the music is excellent, the instructor's voice is a bit jarring. Best used as part of a broader fitness plan rather than your sole exercise regime.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

Magical Delicacy combines Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. While the exploration is well-executed, inventory management and UI could use improvement. The game boasts beautiful pixel art, a charming soundtrack, and excellent accessibility options. Minor frame rate hiccups are present, but the Switch version plays well, especially in handheld mode. Further refinement would elevate this already enjoyable title.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

A polished sequel to the classic platformer. This Ratalaika Games release offers a superior presentation compared to their typical emulation releases, including extras like box art scans, achievements, and a gallery. While the Super NES version is the only one included (missing the Genesis/Mega Drive version), it's a solid entry for fans and retro platformer enthusiasts.

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

A prequel expansion to Metro Quester, set in Osaka. This turn-based dungeon crawler introduces a new dungeon, characters, and challenges. The core mechanics remain the same, emphasizing strategic planning and cautious play. A great addition for fans of the original, and a solid starting point for newcomers.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
