How To Unlock the Photograph Emote (Patch 7.18) in Final Fantasy XIV

Through a special collaboration with Fujifilm's Instax, Final Fantasy XIV's relatively light 7.18 update introduced this charming new emote for all players at no cost. The Photograph emote lets you simulate taking instant photos throughout Eorzea's diverse landscapes.

Unlike many emotes that require completing quests (like the dramatic Pose of the Unbound) or purchasing from vendors, the Photograph emote becomes immediately available in your Emote menu upon logging in after updating.

Simply ensure your game is updated to the latest patch version, and you'll find it ready to use. No level requirements or expansion purchases are needed to access this emote.

How To Use the Photograph Emote in FFXIV

To activate this emote, navigate to your Emote menu (Social tab) and locate Photograph under the General section. Selecting it will have your character produce a Fujifilm-style camera for an instant snapshot. Consider adding it to your Favorites for quick access if you plan to use it frequently.

While not a continuous or AFK-friendly emote, Photograph offers dynamic usage across various environments - from underwater locations like the Ruby Sea to mounted positions (both grounded and airborne). It creates unique photographic moment opportunities with your character.

This 7.18 update precedes the more substantial Patch 7.2 releasing in late March, which will introduce new dungeons, the Arcadion revisit, Cosmic Exploration content, and other exciting features.
