Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: A Festive Extravaganza!

Get ready to celebrate the start of 2025 in Pokémon GO! The annual New Year's event returns, running from December 30th, 2024 to January 1st, 2025. Expect themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and a whole lot of festive fun.

Following the Community Day event (December 21st-22nd, featuring returning Community Day Pokémon), the New Year's event kicks off with a bang. One exciting bonus is earning 2,025 XP for every Excellent Throw! Immerse yourself in the celebratory atmosphere with festive decorations and fireworks lighting up the sky.

This year's event features a boosted appearance rate of special, festively-dressed Pokémon. Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (sporting a party hat), including their Shiny variants!

Raids also get a festive makeover. One-star raids will feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates are increased for all three.
