After months of speculation and leaks, Pokémon Champions, a new multiplayer battle-focused Pokémon game, has finally been revealed. Developed through a collaboration between Game Freak and The Pokémon Works (a joint venture between The Pokémon Company and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl developer ILCA), this title promises a fresh take on Pokémon battles.

Pokémon Champions utilizes the series' core battle system, allowing players to engage in online battles against each other. The trailer showcased both Mega Evolution and Terastallization, hinting at a broad range of Pokémon and battle styles across various generations.

PlayFurther enhancing the experience, Pokémon Champions will integrate with Pokémon Home, enabling players to transfer Pokémon from other games into the fray. This long-awaited feature offers a much-needed solution for those with overflowing boxes of unused Pokémon.

Currently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, Pokémon Champions lacks a concrete release date. However, it's confirmed that the game will support Latin American Spanish at launch, in addition to other languages commonly featured in Pokémon games.

Interestingly, Pokémon Champions appears to be the game previously leaked last year as "Pokémon Synapse," part of the extensive "Freak Leak." While initial details were scarce, suggesting a multiplayer game with possible comparisons to Splatoon, the official reveal clarifies its focus on competitive Pokémon battles.
