Pokémon GO's Max Out Season: Dynamax Pokémon Arrive!

Get ready for gigantic Pokémon battles! Pokémon GO has officially confirmed the arrival of Dynamax Pokémon in the upcoming Max Out season. This exciting new feature brings a whole new level of gameplay to the popular mobile game.

The Max Out season runs from September 10th, 10:00 a.m. local time to September 15th, 8:00 p.m. local time. Prepare for a week of oversized fun!

Dynamax Debut:

The Max Out season kicks off with 1-star Max Battles featuring Dynamax versions of:

• Bulbasaur
• Charmander
• Squirtle
• Skwovet
• Wooloo

Catch these Dynamax Pokémon (and their evolutions!) and even encounter Shiny variations.

Beyond Max Battles, the event includes special Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases offering event-themed rewards.

A new Seasonal Special Research story will also be available, focusing on Max Battles and rewarding players with Max Particles, a new avatar item, and more. This Special Research is claimable from September 3rd, 10:00 a.m. local time to December 3rd, 2024, at 9:59 a.m. local time.

Max Particle Power-Up:

An exclusive Max Particle Pack Bundle (4,800 Max Particles) will be available on the Pokémon GO web store for $7.99 starting September 8th, 6:00 p.m. PDT.

Future Features:

While not officially confirmed, rumors suggest the arrival of Power Spots next month. These locations will serve as hubs for Max Battles, Dynamax Pokémon encounters, and Max Particle collection.

According to Eurogamer, Pokémon GO senior producer John Funtanilla hinted that some Dynamax-capable Pokémon will also be able to Mega Evolve. The possibility of Gigantamax Pokémon remains unconfirmed, though it was previously teased at Pokémon Worlds. Niantic promises further details on Dynamax battles soon.
