As 2024 concludes, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event. This event kicks off a busy start to the year, paving the way for Fidough Fetch and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day.
Following these events, the Eggs-pedition Access arrives January 1st, running throughout the month as part of the Dual Destiny season. For $4.99, this pass unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching adventures until January 31st. The in-game gifting system also receives a boost, allowing you to store up to 40 Gifts, open 50 daily, and collect 150 from Photo Discs. Check out the event trailer below!
What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?
The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While this year's event doesn't introduce new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, there's still plenty of festive fun.
Expect to encounter wild Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple in a party hat – all with Shiny possibilities. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks displays.
Raids feature a snowflake-wearing Pikachu (Tier One), and party hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), with increased Shiny rates. Themed Pokémon will also appear in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
