Pokémon GO Unveils New Tour Pass for Upcoming Unova Event
Pokémon GO players can look forward to a new Tour Pass launching alongside the highly anticipated Unova-themed event, running from February 24th to March 9th. This pass offers a rewarding progression system with various milestones and enticing prizes.
The event, a continuation of the popular Pokémon GO Tour series, focuses on the Unova region (Generation 5 Pokémon). Past GO Tours have celebrated Kanto (2021) and Sinnoh (2022), introducing shiny Pokémon and unique variants.
This year's Unova event features Gen 5 Pokémon in the wild, raids, and eggs. The new Tour Pass, available in both free and deluxe versions, allows players to earn Tour Points by completing tasks such as catching Pokémon, participating in raids, and hatching eggs. These points unlock rewards at various milestones, including candy, stickers, and a special encounter with Zorua. All rewards expire on March 9th at 6 pm local time.
Pokémon GO Tour Pass Details:
- Free Pass: Available to all players.
- Deluxe Pass: Priced at $14.99 (or $19.99 with 10 ranks unlocked) and available from February 24th, 10 am to March 2nd, 6 pm local time on the Pokémon GO Webstore. The deluxe pass provides all rewards from the free track, plus an encounter with the Mythical Pokémon Victini and a Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket guarantees a Lucky Trade with a chosen friend, resetting the Lucky Friend status afterward. Deluxe Pass rewards also expire on March 9th at 6 pm.
The Unova GO Tour promises exciting features, including the debut of Kyurem (Black and White forms) via fusion, mirroring Necrozma's appearance in last year's Sinnoh event. Shiny Meloetta will also make its debut through a ticketed Masterwork Research. The Tour Pass adds another layer of engagement to this highly anticipated event.
