The Pokémon Company has joined forces with Universal Studios Japan to deliver an unforgettable summer experience for tourists worldwide. Dive into the details of this exciting event, which brings beloved Pokémon characters to life through a water-themed parade.
Pokémon NO LIMIT! Summer Splash Parade Hits USJ
The Pokémon Company and Universal Studios Japan are elevating their successful partnership with the introduction of the NO LIMIT! Summer Splash Parade. This year's parade builds upon the original NO LIMIT! Parade by adding a refreshing water-focused theme that promises to enhance your summer fun.
The collaboration, which started in 2021, aims to create a "creative alliance" dedicated to developing new interactive entertainment by combining innovative technology and extraordinary creativity. The NO LIMIT! Parade marked the first significant outcome of this partnership, featuring floats of beloved Pokémon characters like Charizard and Pikachu in a grand procession. Now, the parade is evolving into a fully immersive water experience.
According to The Pokémon Company's website, they have gone to great lengths to "make the featured Pokémon as ‘true-to-life’ as possible." This is evident with Gyarados' debut at USJ, where three performers synchronize their movements to deliver a performance reminiscent of a dragon dance, capturing the Pokémon’s fierce nature.
The parade ensures that guests will get soaked not only by Pokémon but also by iconic characters from Super Mario, Despicable Me, Sesame Street, Peanuts, and Sing. However, guests are not just passive spectators waiting to get drenched; they are active participants in the fun. On hot days, they can position themselves in the "360° Soak Zone," where they can douse and be doused by family, friends, and parade performers in a constant downpour. While personal water guns are prohibited, guests receive a complimentary Water Shooter upon entering this special zone.
Beyond the parade, guests can further immerse themselves in the world of Pokémon with exclusive merchandise and themed food offerings. One highlight on the menu is the "Gyarados Whirling Smoothie – Soda & Pineapple," served in cups featuring "the Park’s largest sleeve ever, emblazoned with a bold and powerful depiction of Gyarados." Additionally, the theme park offers food and drinks that are "ideal for the summer season."
The parade began on July 3 and will continue until September 1, while the 360° Soak Zone will be available until August 22. Whether it's your first visit or you're returning, The Pokémon Company guarantees that "every visit will be amazingly exciting, deeply moving, and always memorable."
