HBO's The Last of Us Season 2 is set to premiere on April 13, and it's expanding its cast with six new actors to enrich the storytelling of the acclaimed video game series. According to Variety, the new additions to the ensemble are Joe Pantoliano (Memento, The Matrix), Alanna Ubach (Euphoria, Bombshell), Ben Ahlers (The Gilded Age, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Hettienne Park (Don't Look Up), Robert John Burke (RoboCop 3), and Noah Lamanna (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds).

These actors will bring to life both characters from the original games and new faces introduced in the series. Joe Pantoliano will portray Eugene, a character known from The Last of Us Part II as Ellie and Dina's pot-smoking friend, who will receive more screen time and a deeper backstory in Season 2. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann shared with Variety that Eugene's role will delve into the dynamics between Joel and Ellie, much like Bill's expanded story in Season 1.

Robert John Burke will play Seth, the bar owner from The Last of Us Part II, known for his controversial sandwich-giving scene. Noah Lamanna will take on the role of Kat, Ellie's former girlfriend before the events of the sequel. Meanwhile, Alanna Ubach, Ben Ahlers, and Hettienne Park will introduce new characters named Hanrahan, Burton, and Elise Park, respectively.

Joining the new cast members are returning stars Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Isabela Merced as Dina, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and Gabriel Luna as Tommy. The showrunners have indicated that the narrative of The Last of Us Part II will unfold over multiple seasons, promising more surprises and developments as the series progresses.

For fans eager to dive deeper into the upcoming season, Variety also reported that The Last of Us Season 2 might span four seasons to fully explore its story. Additionally, Neil Druckmann hinted at the inclusion of some "pretty brutal" cut content from the original video game sequel, promising intense new scenes for viewers.
