Stellar Blade's Update Introduces Bugs, But a Fix is Coming
The latest update for Stellar Blade, Patch 1.009, has brought the much-anticipated Photo Mode and a collaboration with NieR: Automata. However, it has also introduced some game-breaking bugs that have left players frustrated. Shift Up, the game's developers, are actively working on a hotfix patch to address these issues. In the meantime, they advise players against forcing quest progression to avoid permanent softlocks.
Game-Breaking Bugs in Stellar Blade
Players have encountered significant problems following the update. Some have reported being softlocked during a main quest in an earlier dungeon, unable to progress further. Others have experienced game crashes when using the selfie camera in Photo Mode, and issues with new cosmetic items not rendering correctly on Eve. Shift Up is committed to resolving these issues swiftly with an upcoming hotfix patch.
NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode
Patch 1.009 introduces exciting new content, including a collaboration with NieR: Automata. The developers at Shift Up have expressed that NieR: Automata was a significant inspiration for Stellar Blade. This collaboration, a result of mutual respect and creativity between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro, brings 11 exclusive items to the game. Players can find these items by visiting NieR character Emil, who has set up shop within Stellar Blade's world.
The addition of Photo Mode has been a long-awaited feature for many players, allowing them to capture personalized snapshots of their favorite characters. With Photo Mode, players can pose protagonist Eve and her companions for photos, and engage in new photo challenge requests. To enhance the Photo Mode experience, Eve receives four new outfits and a new accessory that changes the appearance of Tachy Mode, available after completing a specific ending. Additionally, a "No Ponytail" option has been added to the ponytail length settings, offering more customization for Eve's appearance.
Alongside these new features, the update includes lip-sync support for six additional voice-over languages, improved projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various smaller bug fixes to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
