Ubisoft is charting an exciting course for Skull and Bones Year 2, aiming to make it the most expansive year yet for the pirate multiplayer game. The company unveiled a wealth of new content during a special Year 2 showcase, including new modes, ships, and the much-anticipated addition of land combat, which fans have been clamoring for since the game's launch.
The showcase, which premiered yesterday, highlighted the roadmap for the upcoming year. The spotlight was on Season 3: Guts and Glory, set to launch this fall, which will introduce the long-awaited land combat feature. Players will finally have the opportunity to engage in sword fights and use firearms on land as part of the Rogue Warlord additions. This new feature will allow players to explore sandy beaches and damp caves in search of skilled crew members called Officers. A teaser video provided a glimpse into what players can expect, though full details will be revealed later this year.
While land combat is the headline feature of Skull and Bones Year 2, the roadmap includes several other exciting updates. Season 1: Ascent into Chaos, launching today, April 15, introduces a new item ascension feature for enhanced loot, challenging World Tiers, a new Schooner medium ship, and the team-based Death Tides PvP mode. Season 2: Oaths of War, slated for summer 2025, will bring Megaforts and the impressive Frigate large ships. Season 4: Eye of the Beast, scheduled for this winter, promises the introduction of the Kraken, the Hunter’s Guild, and the Corvette large ship.
For those intrigued by the new content, Ubisoft is offering a free weekend from April 17 – 21, giving players a chance to experience pirate PvP firsthand. Additionally, the game will be available at a discounted price, though the exact amount has yet to be disclosed.
