Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced significant leadership changes, effective April 1, 2025. Hideaki Nishino has been appointed as the sole CEO of SIE, succeeding the previous co-leadership structure. This follows the retirement of Jim Ryan last year, which led to a split leadership between Nishino and Hermen Hulst.
Simultaneously, Sony Corporation announced the promotion of Hiroki Totoki, currently CFO, to President and CEO of the entire company. He replaces Kenichiro Yoshida, who held the position since April 2018. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development and strategy, ascends to the CFO role.
Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group. In his new role, he will oversee all SIE operations and lead the platform business group. Hermen Hulst will continue as head of PlayStation Studios.
Nishino expressed his honor in leading SIE, emphasizing the importance of technology and creativity in delivering engaging entertainment experiences. He highlighted plans for PlayStation community growth through IP expansion and technological innovation, thanking Hulst for his continued leadership at PlayStation Studios.
