Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessories

Sony has announced a stylish new Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, adding a dark aesthetic to its popular accessories. The collection includes the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds.

This sophisticated collection follows previous color releases for the DualSense controller, including Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Galactic Purple. The Midnight Black theme offers a sleek alternative to the standard white, appealing to gamers who prefer a darker aesthetic. Adding to the excitement, rumors suggest an upcoming upgrade for the PlayStation VR2 headset.

The new Midnight Black accessories are priced as follows:

• PlayStation Portal: $199.99
• Pulse Explore wireless earbuds: $199.99
• Pulse Elite wireless headset: $149.99

Note that the Pulse Elite headset's price is higher than its predecessor, the Pulse 3D wireless headset. Both the headset and earbuds come with a felt gray carrying case.

Pre-orders for the Midnight Black Collection begin January 16, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com. The full launch is scheduled for February 20, 2025.

Beyond the Midnight Black Collection, Sony continues to expand its range of themed DualSense controllers. Recent releases include controllers themed after God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, with a limited-edition Helldivers 2 controller also available for pre-order.
