Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl boasts a diverse arsenal, allowing players to tailor their loadout to their preferred combat style. Beyond standard weaponry, unique, named variants with enhanced stats and modifications exist, such as the Cavalier sniper rifle. This distinctive weapon features a red-dot sight instead of a traditional scope, making it exceptionally effective at close to medium ranges. Here's how to acquire this powerful addition to your inventory.
Acquiring the Cavalier Sniper Rifle
The Cavalier Sniper Rifle is located near the Military Unit within the Duga base. It's hidden inside a warehouse connected to a greenhouse. If you've previously retrieved the Journalist stash from Duga, accessing this area should be straightforward via the secondary entrance.
Accessing the Warehouse
Upon entering Duga, proceed towards the Military Unit building (marked on your map). Circumvent the building to reach the greenhouse at its rear. Be wary of two Pseudogiants patrolling this area; they'll attack on sight. Approach the greenhouse cautiously to avoid a confrontation.
Once inside the greenhouse, you'll enter the warehouse. Prepare for a swarm of rats upon entry; they'll inflict damage quickly. Utilize the elevated green platforms at the warehouse's rear to avoid the rodent infestation, or employ a grenade to eliminate them swiftly.
Retrieving the Cavalier
After dealing with the rats, examine the warehouse ceiling above the greenhouse entrance. You'll notice yellow-painted wooden boards. Destroy these boards using your weapon; the Cavalier sniper rifle will fall from above.
Retrieve the weapon and safely exit Duga. The Cavalier can be further upgraded by Screw, the technician at Rostok base. Its high damage and accuracy are further enhanced with upgrades and modifications. For players who prefer red-dot sights over scopes on their sniper rifles, the Cavalier is an ideal choice, excelling in close-to-medium range engagements.
