Star Wars Tactics Game Unveiled at 2025 Celebration

EA's highly anticipated Star Wars turn-based tactics game, developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment, will finally be unveiled. Announced in early 2022, this project brings together the expertise of Bit Reactor, a studio founded by veterans of Firaxis Games known for the XCOM franchise, and the acclaimed Star Wars Jedi developers at Respawn. The first look at this untitled strategy game is scheduled for April 19, with a live panel featuring key members from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games.

Although details about the game's setting and gameplay are scarce, the involvement of XCOM veterans hints at a thrilling tactical experience set within the Star Wars universe. Fans can expect a strategic game that captures the essence of Star Wars, possibly drawing on the depth and complexity that defined the XCOM series.

While Respawn Entertainment continues to work on the third installment of the Star Wars Jedi series, there's no word on whether it will appear at this year's Celebration. Additionally, Respawn had been developing another Star Wars game, a first-person shooter potentially featuring a Mandalorian protagonist, but it was unfortunately canceled amid a significant restructuring at EA, which also saw the cancellation of a multiplayer first-person shooter incubation project and the loss of numerous jobs.

Star Wars Celebration 2025 promises more than just the reveal of this new strategy game. Attendees will also get a sneak peek at "The Mandalorian & Grogu" movie, slated for release in May 2026, and a first look at "Star Wars: Visions Volume 3."
