Stardew Valley: How To Befriend The Dwarf

Meeting the Dwarf

Dwarf's Boulder Located in the mines, to the right of the first floor entrance, a large boulder hides the Dwarf's shop. Destroy this obstacle (using a copper pickaxe or bomb) to reveal his dwelling.

Mastering Dwarvish

Dwarf's Shop Initial interactions are futile without the Dwarvish language. To unlock communication, collect all four Dwarf Scrolls (artifacts) and donate them to the museum. Gunther will then provide the Dwarvish Translation guide. Return to the mines to engage in meaningful conversation and access his shop.

Gift Giving: The Path to Friendship

Dwarf's Gifts Gifts are key to the Dwarf's affection. Remember, he accepts up to two gifts weekly. His birthday (Summer 22nd) multiplies friendship points gained from gifts eightfold.

Gifts to Avoid (Negative Friendship Points):

Avoid mushrooms, foraged items, and universally hated gifts (excluding artifacts). Hated gifts inflict greater friendship penalties than disliked ones.

Movie Theater Encounters

Movie Theater The Dwarf attends movie screenings at the Movie Theater. He loves all films but has specific snack preferences. He loves Stardrop Sorbet and Rock Candy, and likes Cotton Candy, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jawbreaker, Salmon Burger, Sour Slimes, and Star Cookie. Other concessions are disliked.
