IGN's review praised Stellar Blade's strengths while noting areas for improvement: "The game delivers gorgeous visuals and tight combat systems reminiscent of Sekiro, though suffers from shallow storytelling and repetitive side content."

Reviewers highlighted the title's compelling action mechanics and enemy designs while critiquing underwhelming RPG elements: "Retreading environments for fetch quests dampens the experience, though the rewarding combat loop and satisfying exploration incentives largely compensate."
