There’s no denying the excitement surrounding the release of the latest Final Destination film. Final Destination: Bloodlines marks the sixth installment in the beloved horror franchise, and true to tradition, it features a standout performance from the late Tony Todd. Known for his unforgettable portrayal of the original Candyman, Todd delivers a deeply moving monologue in this film — a moment that fans will remember long after the credits roll. According to producer Craig Perry, what makes this scene even more special is that Todd’s words were completely unscripted.

Speaking with Deadline, Perry reflected on the emotional weight of the scene and the final performance of an industry icon. “We all knew he was quite ill at the time,” Perry shared. “It was clear this would be the last movie role he’d ever play. And considering it was part of the Final Destination series, it made the moment even more meaningful.”

What followed on set was both unexpected and powerful. Directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein made the bold choice to deviate from the script during Todd’s scene, giving him the space to speak directly from his heart.

“The directors decided to remove the last couple of scripted lines and said, ‘Tony, just say what you want to say to the fans. What would you like to impart to them in this moment?’” Perry recalled. “That raw emotion you feel in the scene? That’s real — because Tony was speaking straight to the fans who supported him throughout his career. It was a magical, unforgettable moment. One I’ll carry with me forever.”
