It's been a week where Shaun couldn't resist spotlighting not just one but multiple free-to-play matching puzzle game updates. But don't worry, we've got plenty of cool stuff to explore as well, including Shaun's entertaining takedown of King Robert. Peglin, Free
It's not often I lead with the first game on the list, but Peglin earns the coveted UMMSotW award this week with its 1.0 update. Now, you can challenge yourself up to level 20 in Cruciball, face off against a new Slime Hive mini-boss, and enjoy a slew of tweaks, bug fixes, balance adjustments, and other enhancements. While Peglin didn't need much updating, the improvements are most welcome.

Brawl Stars, Free
It's Brawl Stars time, folks! And guess what? SpongeBob SquarePants has joined the fray in a new event, which is absolutely fantastic. New Brawlers Moe (Mythic) and Kenji (Legendary) are on their way, along with new Hypercharges for various characters. These exciting additions will be rolled out over the next couple of months, with the SpongeBob event starting soon, if it hasn't already by the time you read this.

What else could you expect from an update to the calming and delightful stitch but more Hoops to enjoy? This update introduces a martial arts theme to the mix. As with any great puzzle game, the theme matters less than the new puzzles themselves. So, update your app and dive into some new Hoops; it's bound to be satisfying.

Genshin Impact, Free
Genshin Impact is now Genshin Impact: Natlan Launch with the arrival of the new region, Natlan. Alongside it, you get three new characters: Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina, as well as new weapons. There are plenty of new events, stories, and artifacts to explore. This update is larger than usual but follows the familiar pattern of previous Genshin Impact updates.

Temple Run: Puzzle Adventure
For those on Apple Arcade, Temple Run: Puzzle Adventure brings a hefty update with one hundred new levels to tackle. The tournaments have been refreshed as well. While it's a matching puzzle game update, it's sure to keep players engaged, possibly until the next update rolls around.

Jetpack Joyride 2
In a very special update for Jetpack Joyride 2 on Apple Arcade, Barry Steakfries ventures into the untouched realm of SPACE! It's a nod to an iconic reference, and though I'd love to leave it at that, formatting demands I elaborate. Here's to Tim Curry, a true legend whose performances, big and small, we cherish deeply.

Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop
Another matching puzzle game, but a classic in its own right. The update brings new character episodes for Sig, Carbuncle, and Rafisol in Adventure Mode, with Meena joining as a playable character without her own episode. Seven new music tracks, arrangements of fan favorites, are available in the shop, along with the usual bug fixes.

Hearthstone, Free
It's time for Hearthstone updates! Battlegrounds Season 8, Trinkets & Travels, introduces the Trinket Shop, replacing Buddies. You can buy Trinkets with Gold up to twice per game, which will impact the rest of your match. While this could pose balancing challenges, it's an exciting new direction for Hearthstone.

Toon Blast, Free
The first of our obligatory free-to-play matching puzzle game updates is Toon Blast, bringing fifty new levels in a new episode that involves bees and happiness. Bees are fascinating creatures, essential to our ecosystem, and while I'm a bit wary of them, I appreciate their role. Keep buzzing, little buddies!

Royal Match, Free
The debate continues: should King Robert vanish forever or endure a perpetual cycle of defeat and revival? This update adds one hundred new levels and a new jousting arena, which sounds promising. And let's not forget that hilarious ad where King Robert replaces the freezing pregnant lady and her child. Perhaps he should burn his velvet robes for warmth, the extravagant old monarch.
