Empire: Total War Mobile Expansion Arriving Soon

Feral Interactive and The Creative Assembly are preparing to launch a major expansion for Total War. Titled Total War: EMPIRE – A New World, this release is notable for being available exclusively on mobile. The expansion is scheduled to launch on September 18th.

Hundreds of Hours of Added Gameplay Await

The update introduces new campaigns, balance adjustments, expanded unit rosters, and a range of naval units. However, the most significant addition is the unlocking of 44 new playable factions, increasing the total number to 55.

Players can now lead every non-rebel nation in the Grand Campaign from the start. This means you can immediately take command of the United States, the Mughal Empire, Gran Colombia, or the Barbary States.

Each of these nations has received expanded unit rosters and tweaks to ensure smaller factions remain competitive in the later stages of the game. Naval combat has also been bolstered with 14 new vessels. The lineup includes smaller craft like dhows and light galleys, as well as the massive 140-gun Santísima Trinidad, a dominant warship from the late 18th century.

Two New Campaigns Feature in the Total War: EMPIRE – A New World Expansion

The Late Start Campaign shifts the Grand Campaign's timeline to 1783, placing players in the heart of the Age of Revolution. In this scenario, colonial powers like Britain and France struggle to maintain control over their overseas territories.

The Warpath Campaign, previously a PC-exclusive DLC, is finally making its way to mobile. This campaign allows five Native American factions to battle in a focused, single-theatre setting. Additionally, the Iroquois, Cherokee, Plains Nations, Pueblo Nations, and the Huron are fully playable in the Grand Campaign for the first time.

Total War: EMPIRE – A New World is launching solely on mobile, a departure from the franchise's history of prioritizing PC for expansions. The base game is available on the Google Play Store, with A New World priced at $6.99 as an in-app purchase.
