Universe for Sale Is a New Visual Novel Set in a Bizarre Bazaar on Planet Jupiter

Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Akupara Games has already released several captivating titles this year, including The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti.

Is the Universe Actually for Sale?

The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre marketplace shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans with surprising intelligence work the docks, and cultists barter flesh for enlightenment.

The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the unusual ability to create universes from her hand.

The game begins in the ramshackle mining colony shantytown. You play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment – a character both unsettling and intriguing.

Exploring the dilapidated colony, filled with quirky tea shops and other peculiar establishments, you eventually discover Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop. Lila's enigmatic nature gradually unfolds as you shift between her perspective and the Master's throughout the game.

Playing as Lila involves creating universes in a mini-game, mixing and matching ingredients to produce visually stunning worlds. Meanwhile, the Master's journey delves into the Cult of Detachment's philosophies and encounters with the Church of Many Gods.

The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the underlying events. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world encourages exploration.
