Paramount Pictures has announced significant changes to its release schedule, resulting in delays for two highly anticipated Nickelodeon films: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These shifts mean fans will have to wait several months longer than initially planned to see these movies on the big screen.
According to Variety, the much-awaited The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, which focuses on the beloved Avatar character Aang, will no longer premiere on January 30, 2026. Instead, it has been rescheduled for October 9, 2026. This delay pushes the release back by nearly nine months, marking the second delay for this sequel to Nickelodeon's cherished fantasy series. The film was originally slated for October 10, 2025. Paramount has also unveiled a new logo for the movie, which you can view below.
No specific reason was provided for the delay, but it's confirmed that voice actors Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam are still attached to the project. The film will explore Aang's story years after the original series concluded and was officially titled at last month's CinemaCon. It is the first of three planned movies set in the Avatar universe.
Similarly, the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 has been pushed back. The sequel to the 2023 hit was initially set to premiere on October 9, 2026, but fans will now have to wait until September 17, 2027, to see how the adventures of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo continue. This delay adds almost a year to the wait time, especially for those eager to see the payoff of the tantalizing mid-credits scene from the first film. While plot and casting details remain undisclosed, fans can tide themselves over with the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series in the meantime.
