Atomfall Unveils Gameplay Footage for Impending March Release

Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England

Rebellion Developments, renowned for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in a 1960s alternate England devastated by nuclear war. The recently released seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a compelling glimpse into this post-apocalyptic world.

Initially revealed during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall initially flew under the radar amidst larger announcements. However, its day-one inclusion in Xbox Game Pass generated significant interest. The new trailer finally provides substantial gameplay details.

The trailer establishes the game's setting: a bleak, post-nuclear Britain. Fans of titles like Fallout and STALKER will find familiar elements, including exploration of quarantine zones, dilapidated villages, and abandoned research facilities. Survival hinges on resource scavenging amidst encounters with hostile robots, fanatical cultists, and hazardous environments.

Combat, a key element showcased in the trailer, features a blend of melee and ranged encounters. Initially, players wield basic weapons—a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle—but the trailer hints at weapon upgrades and a broader arsenal to discover. Crafting plays a crucial role, allowing players to create healing items and tools like Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in uncovering hidden supplies and crafting materials. Furthermore, players can unlock and upgrade skills categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning, enhancing their capabilities.

Launching March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC (with immediate Game Pass availability on Xbox), Atomfall promises a gripping survival experience. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so fans should stay tuned for further updates.
