Avowed: A Solo Fantasy Adventure – No Multiplayer Here
Avowed has been compared to both Skyrim and Obsidian's own The Outer Worlds, but one key difference is its lack of multiplayer functionality. Contrary to some initial expectations, Avowed is a strictly single-player experience. There's no co-op mode, no player-versus-player (PvP) combat, and no invasion mechanics allowing other players to enter your game world.
While Obsidian Entertainment initially considered incorporating co-op, it was ultimately cut during development. The decision, according to reports, stemmed from a focus on other aspects of the game. Despite the absence of multiplayer, the game features companions who assist the player, mirroring the structure of The Outer Worlds. All enemies are AI-controlled.
Currently, there are no known plans for a co-op mod, although the possibility remains. Creating such a mod would be a significant undertaking. Furthermore, Obsidian has confirmed they won't be adding multiplayer post-launch.
In short: Avowed is a single-player-only game.
