In 2025, World of Warcraft players can look forward to the much-anticipated introduction of a housing system, with Blizzard already unveiling the initial details. The developers have assured that homes will be accessible to all players, free from complex prerequisites, exorbitant costs, or any form of lottery. Importantly, these homes will remain yours even if you pause your subscription. The complete rollout of this housing feature is slated for the Midnight expansion.
Upon launch, players will have the opportunity to select their plot in one of two designated zones—those aligned with the Alliance can choose from Elwynn Forest, which will incorporate elements from Westfall and Duskwood, while Horde members will have options in Durotar, featuring elements from Azshara and the Durotar coastline.
Each zone will be segmented into districts, with each district housing approximately 50 homes. Players can opt to settle in open areas or choose to form a private community alongside friends and guildmates. Blizzard promises an extensive array of decoration options for personalizing your space, with the majority of these items obtainable in-game, and a select few available in the shop.
The core philosophy behind the housing system revolves around three key principles: extensive customization, fostering social interactions, and ensuring long-term engagement. Blizzard plans to release more details about the system in the future and invites players to share their feedback and ideas in the meantime.
