Taming Ebony Odogaron's Speed

Ebony Odogaron's speed is its most frustrating trait. Stunning it is key. Utilize nearby Flashflies or craft Flash Pods to temporarily immobilize the beast.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Fighting Ebony Odogaron solo is incredibly difficult. Send out SOS flares to recruit fellow hunters. If assistance is unavailable, NPCs can provide valuable support, acting as a buffer while you dodge attacks.

Utilizing Environmental Hazards

In certain areas, entangled rocks hang overhead. Use your slinger to dislodge them, stunning the monster for a crucial window of opportunity. Note: this tactic is only effective once per fight. Combine this with Pitfall and Shock Traps for additional immobilization chances.

Countering Dragonblight

Ebony Odogaron inflicts Dragonblight, hindering your elemental and status effect damage. Carry Nulberries to counteract this, or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance for preventative measures.

The Power of Paralysis

Paralysis is highly effective against Ebony Odogaron, significantly slowing its relentless attacks. If you manage to paralyze it near roots, it might even become further entangled, giving you a significant advantage.

Strategic Targeting

While the head is Ebony Odogaron's primary weak point (3-star weakness), targeting it directly puts you at greater risk. Consider focusing on the forelegs and tail for less damage but a safer approach, allowing you to potentially break its limbs.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron

To capture Ebony Odogaron, reduce its health to 20% or less, then deploy a Pitfall or Shock Trap. Failing to meet the health requirement will result in a failed capture attempt.
