Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile launch on iOS and Android. This relaunch by Level Infinite, a Tencent subsidiary, promises a blend of missions and game modes with a tactical focus. The game is slated for a late January 2025 release and marks Tencent's significant entry into the modern military shooter market.
While the Delta Force franchise may be unfamiliar to some, it holds a significant place in FPS history, predating even Call of Duty. Known for its realistic combat, diverse weaponry, and advanced gadgets, the series is based on the renowned US military special forces unit.
Tencent's revival features Warfare mode (large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield) and Operations mode (extraction-based gameplay). A single-player campaign, inspired by the Battle of Mogadishu and the film Black Hawk Down, is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its approach to combating cheaters. Tencent's anti-cheat measures, implemented for the PC version, have drawn criticism. While the mobile version may experience fewer cheating issues, this prior controversy might impact player interest.
However, the potential for a smoother, cheat-free mobile experience could still make Delta Force a successful mobile title. For a broader look at top mobile shooters, explore our list of the 15 best iOS shooters!
