Crytek has announced a restructuring that includes a reduction in its workforce. Approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person team, will be laid off due to financial challenges.

Simultaneously, Crytek revealed that development of the next Crysis game has been temporarily paused, a decision made in the third quarter of 2024. The studio is now focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.

While Crytek explored reassigning staff to other projects, including Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the upcoming Crysis title, this proved unfeasible. Despite cost-cutting measures, layoffs were deemed necessary.

Crytek's future plans prioritize expanding content for Hunt: Showdown 1896, while the new Crysis game is indefinitely delayed. Affected employees will receive severance packages and career support.

Despite these challenges, Crytek remains positive about its long-term prospects, focusing on Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the continued development of its CRYENGINE technology.
