Following the buzz around their new project, Project C4, ZA/UM has thrilled fans by announcing an official mobile version of their critically acclaimed game, Disco Elysium. This mobile adaptation will be exclusive to Android devices, aiming to introduce the immersive world of Disco Elysium to a fresh audience while offering a convenient, on-the-go experience for existing fans.
In a strategic move to engage new players, ZA/UM plans to offer the first two chapters of Disco Elysium for free. Players can then opt to make a one-time payment to unlock the full game, ensuring an ad-free experience. This approach reflects ZA/UM's commitment to allowing players to make informed decisions about their purchases.
"Today's ZA/UM studio is comprised of both creators and custodians of the Disco Elysium IP. We take both of those roles very seriously and we believe that is evident in the Disco Elysium mobile experience we are creating," stated ZA/UM, emphasizing their dedication to maintaining the game's integrity across platforms.

Studio head Denis Havel highlighted the intention to reach the TikTok audience, stating, "We intend to captivate the TikTok user with quick hits of compelling story, art, and audio, ultimately creating an all new, deeply engaging form of entertainment." This approach underscores ZA/UM's innovative strategy to engage younger, mobile-first audiences.
Alongside the announcement, ZA/UM released a debut trailer and screenshots showcasing new, 360-degree scenes designed specifically for mobile users, placing them right in the heart of Revachol. The game also features brand new audio with full voiceover, enhancing the immersive and character-rich experience.
The official description emphasizes that this mobile version is a "total re-imagination of the award-winning, gripping psychological RPG Disco Elysium," tailored to meet the preferences of today's mobile users. It's designed for short play sessions, allowing players to enjoy the story-rich adventure anytime, anywhere.
Narrative Lead Chris Priestman described the mobile version as "what audiobooks wish they were," designed to be enjoyed in short bursts. Disco Elysium is set to launch on mobile via Google Android in the summer of 2025.
It's important to note that while the studio retains the same name, many of the key individuals who contributed to the original Disco Elysium have since left ZA/UM. Numerous former ZA/UM members have departed the studio since the game's release, and some are now involved in creating spiritual successors.
