Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC's Blessing of Marika: A Mimic Tear Game Changer

Many Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC players overlook a game-changing mechanic: equipping the Blessing of Marika allows your Mimic Tear summon to fully heal itself during tough boss battles. The Blessing of Marika's utility has been heavily debated since the DLC's release, with many players mistakenly consuming it, believing it to be a single-use item.

The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, while praised for certain aspects, has received mixed Steam reviews. Criticisms include underwhelming loot, a less engaging open world in some areas, and challenging difficulty. For struggling players, the Blessing of Marika offers a significant advantage.

Twitch streamer ZiggyPrincess highlighted this often-missed feature. Unlike the Mimic Tear's usual Raw Meat Dumpling self-heal (restoring only 50% HP), the Blessing of Marika provides a full HP restoration.

Utilizing the Blessing of Marika with your Mimic Tear:

Simply equip the Blessing of Marika to your Quick Items slot (where flasks, Spectral Seeds, and spirit summons are equipped). Summoning the Mimic Tear will enable it to use the Blessing as needed. Importantly, the Mimic Tear has seemingly unlimited access to this item.

The Blessing of Marika is found relatively early in the Gravesite Plains, often leading to confusion due to its flask-like appearance. Many players consume it unintentionally before realizing it's not a reusable item. Fortunately, additional Blessings can be obtained by defeating a Tree Sentinel or at the Fort of Reprimand.
