Football Manager 2025 cancelled on all platforms

The popular sports simulator, Football Manager 2025, has been cancelled across all platforms, including its anticipated mobile release. This follows multiple release date postponements. Sports Interactive, the developer, cited difficulties in achieving the desired technical quality as the reason for cancellation. Their statement confirmed a shift in focus towards the next installment in the franchise.

This news is disappointing for fans, particularly given the previously announced Netflix Games mobile release, which promised to introduce the franchise to a wider audience. That plan is now uncertain.

A Difficult Decision

The late cancellation, initially slated for March of this year, and the lack of planned updates to Football Manager 24 to bridge the gap, is understandably frustrating for many. However, the decision to avoid releasing a subpar product is, in a way, commendable. While the communication could have been improved, prioritizing quality over a rushed release deserves some acknowledgment. The hope is that Football Manager 26 will see a return to Netflix Games.
