On April 23, PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions unveiled a new trailer for Ghost of Yōtei titled "The Onryō’s List." This trailer not only showcases the game's story but also gives fans a glimpse of the gameplay they can expect. The trailer concludes with the announcement of the game's release date, set for October 2, 2025.

Ghost of Yōtei continues the saga with a new protagonist, Atsu, set in the heart of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido). Her quest for vengeance against the Yōtei Six—a notorious group of outlaws responsible for the murder of her family—drives the narrative. Atsu aims to hunt down each member of the group, known as The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.

As a standalone sequel, Ghost of Yōtei is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. The developers have promised a range of new features, including an array of new weapons and mechanics, building on the success of its predecessor.
