The Gothic 1 Remake demo has been released on Steam

THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have released a trailer for the "Nyras Prologue" demo of the Gothic 1 Remake. This demo, available now as part of the Steam Next Fest, lets players experience the remake as Nyras, a prisoner striving for survival in the harsh world of Gothic. Unlike the original, which featured the Nameless Hero, the remake offers a different protagonist while maintaining the core survival goal.

The demo has already achieved a record number of concurrent players for the Gothic series:

The "Nyras Prologue" showcases the enhanced visuals, animations, and Unreal Engine 5-powered combat system of the remake. While the demo doesn't fully represent the RPG depth and freedom of the complete game, it provides a compelling glimpse.

The Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and GOG), though a specific release date remains unannounced.
