Leslie Benzies, the mastermind behind Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is poised to launch his next ambitious project, MindsEye. Recently showcased at PlayStation's State of Play, MindsEye offers a fresh glimpse into a high-octane spy thriller.
The new trailer reveals a game brimming with third-person gunplay, stunning cinematics, and thrilling drive-by shootouts, echoing familiar elements from Benzies' previous work. Watch the cinematic trailer below:
Official press materials detail MindsEye's narrative, following Jacob Diaz, a protagonist equipped with a neural implant, the MindsEye, which has fractured his memories, leaving him with fragmented flashbacks from his military service. His quest to uncover the truth about his past pits him against a formidable AI-powered military force.
MindsEye has been in development for several years. Following his departure from Rockstar Games, Benzies established Build a Rocket Boy, collaborating with IO Interactive, the creators of Hitman, on this AAA action-adventure title. MindsEye will also integrate with the Everywhere platform, previously described as a "big-budget Roblox" following a studio visit in 2024.
While the new trailer doesn't explicitly mention Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises an exciting action experience from a leading figure in the gaming industry. The game is slated for release sometime in the summer of 2025.
