In India, playing cricket in the tight confines of a gully, or narrow alley, is often considered more thrilling than on a traditional field. Embracing this cultural phenomenon, an indie Indian studio named 5th Ocean Studios has released their latest cricket game, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, into Open Beta on Android.
Not Your Typical Cricket Simulation
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket breaks the mold with its 4v4 multiplayer format, setting the action right in the heart of Indian gullies. As the first-ever 4v4 street cricket game, players will experience the unique thrill of rooftop catches, navigating around scooters, and dodging the shouts of nosy uncles warning against broken windows. The fun doesn't stop there; you can also engage in 1v1 matches.
The game enhances the experience with power moves and real-time voice chat, allowing you to communicate, sledge, drop emojis during matches, and even resort to some sneaky tactics. The environments are vividly Indian, with bustling neighborhood settings where you'll play with broken stumps, makeshift pitches, and unpredictable bounces off uneven walls.
Customization is a key feature, with options to build and personalize your gang, dressing them in funky outfits and unlocking various skins.
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket Is Now in Open Beta
5th Ocean Studios is committed to enriching the game with a series of updates, including new street maps, fresh outfits, regular events, clan wars, and an esports mode in the future. Players can look forward to leaderboards, daily and weekly challenges, and intense gang vs. gang showdowns.
Currently available only on Android, the game is set to expand to iOS and Steam. Full controller support and cross-platform features are also on the horizon. To dive into this unique cricket experience, download Gully Gangs: Street Cricket from the Google Play Store.
