The roguelike dungeon crawler, Hades II, has received its second substantial patch. "The Warsong Update" propels protagonist Melinoë towards the "Final Confrontation" beyond the Guardian of Olympus. This update introduces the fearsome Ares, god of war, along with his unique Boons, promising a fresh and challenging experience for players.

Beyond Ares, this update boasts a new animal familiar, challenging new foes, a revamped Altar of Ashes with updated art and Arcana effects, over 2,000 new voice lines, and engaging new events. Players can even take a break from the relentless dungeon crawling to relax in the Crossroads, enjoy new soundtracks, or share a melodic duet with Artemis.

A Glimpse into the Future: The Third Major Update

While "The Warsong" is still fresh, Supergiant Games has already begun planning the third major update, promising its unveiling "in a few months," as detailed on their Steam news post. Hades II remains in Early Access, with the developers stating, "it’s still too early to share our plans beyond that, including when our v1.0 launch will be." However, they hint at a potentially sooner-than-expected full release, noting that the core structure of the Underworld and Surface routes is largely complete, and their focus has shifted to enriching the existing content.

Following the release of all post-launch patches for "The Warsong," Supergiant Games will prioritize the following:
