Harrison Ford, the iconic actor known for his roles in the Indiana Jones series, has expressed his approval of Troy Baker's portrayal of the legendary character in the video game "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle." In an interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine, Ford humorously remarked, "You don’t need artificial intelligence to steal my soul. You can already do it for nickels and dimes with good ideas and talent. He did a brilliant job, and it didn’t take AI to do it." This statement highlights Ford's confidence in Baker's ability to bring authenticity to the role without relying on AI technology.

"Indiana Jones and the Great Circle," released in December, is considered an authentic, though possibly non-canonical, addition to the long-running series. This game stands in contrast to the 2023 film "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," which did not receive a warm reception from fans. Given the positive feedback on the game, the franchise's creators might consider exploring this new direction further, potentially moving away from having Ford reprise his role.

Ford, who has also starred in the Star Wars franchise and will soon appear in Marvel projects, joins a growing list of creatives who are vocal about their concerns regarding the use of AI in media. Notable figures like Tim Burton have described AI-generated art as "very disturbing," while Nicolas Cage has called it a "dead end." The issue extends to the voice acting community, where actors such as Ned Luke from "Grand Theft Auto 5" have criticized AI chatbots for using their voices without permission. Similarly, Doug Cockle, known for his role in "The Witcher," has warned that while AI may be inevitable, it poses significant dangers, particularly in the potential loss of income for voice actors.
