What’s in Store?
Bob's Technotavern is undergoing a major upgrade. As part of Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9, player ratings will be reset, and the beloved Trinkets will bid us farewell, making room for innovative Battlegrounds Tokens. These tokens can be used at the hero selection screen, allowing you to reroll one of your hero options. If you find yourself with less-than-ideal choices, simply use a token and roll the dice for a better chance at your preferred hero.
Before delving into the specifics, let's review the reveal and launch schedule for Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9. Today marks the reveal of Naga and Dragon minions, followed by Quilboar and Beast reveals on November 21st. Pirate and Duos-only reveals are scheduled for November 22nd, while Murloc and Demon reveals will happen on November 25th. The Elemental and Undead reveals are set for November 26th. On December 2nd, preview event streams will showcase the 31.2 patch notes, which will be released later that day.
What Else Is New?
Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9 is introducing three new heroes, with Farseer Nobundo stealing the spotlight thanks to his Galaxy's Lens and cosmic flares. Additionally, nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells are set to either join or leave the pools, ensuring a dynamic gameplay environment.
In terms of gameplay mechanics, the damage cap will see a tweak, but this change applies only to solo Battlegrounds games. Early-game damage will be capped at 5, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. Once you reach the top 4, the cap is removed entirely, adding an extra layer of strategy to your battles.
The season officially kicks off on December 3rd, with Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs being added to the minion pool. Murlocs and Demons will join the fray on December 5th, followed by Undead and Elementals on December 9th.
