Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered leans heavily into its engaging moment-to-moment action gameplay, yet it also offers substantial opportunities for weapon and outfit customization. Whether you're crafting an outfit perfect for stealthily navigating around machines or one optimized for melee or ranged combat, the game caters to various playstyles.
However, there may be times when you wish to harness the benefits of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, this is possible, though it comes with certain limitations. This guide will walk you through the process.
Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required
To enjoy the effects of two outfits, you'll need the Remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn. This feature isn't available in the original game. A recent update to the Remastered edition introduced the transmog feature, which allows you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while donning the appearance of another. Now, you can look stylish without sacrificing the performance benefits of your chosen outfit.
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
To utilize the effects of two outfits, you must meet specific prerequisites. Not all outfits are compatible with this method. While you can choose any outfit for one slot, the second must be one of the following:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (only available in New Game Plus)
These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you won't be able to use this method at the game's start. Thankfully, accessing the DLC doesn't require completing the base game.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Begin your journey by reaching the expansion area after defeating the new machine. If you find this challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear beforehand. Once in the area, locate a Bluegleam Merchant, identified by a blue Merchant icon, and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resources | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
To acquire the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Ensure you're well-equipped, as this mission can be demanding. Alternatively, reduce the difficulty to Story mode to complete the quest more easily and unlock the outfit.
The process for obtaining the Adept version is identical, but it's only available in New Game Plus (NG+).
Once you've secured the second outfit, you can stop progressing through the Frozen Wilds content if you wish.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
Start by equipping your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats using Weaves. After selecting your primary outfit, use the transmog feature to adopt the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. While these outfits don't add to the stats, they grant an automatic healing perk after sustaining damage for a period.
This method lets you maintain your chosen outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing feature of the Banuk Werak outfits. If you're wearing the Shield Weaver outfit, you become nearly invincible, as you rarely take damage. In the rare cases you do, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk will activate shortly after.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits' healing perks activate more quickly than the Banuk Werak Runner's, so opt for these if available.
