Kim explains, "Every action a Zoi takes affects their karma. Upon death, this karma determines their fate. Low karma results in a ghostly afterlife, requiring redemption before rebirth."

The consequences of unchecked negative karma are far-reaching. Kim continues, "Too many ghosts prevent new Zois from being born, halting family formation. This places the responsibility for city prosperity squarely on the players' shoulders." Players must carefully manage the collective karma to avoid societal collapse.

Importantly, Kim clarifies the system's intent: "It's not about forcing 'good' choices. Life isn't simply good or bad; it's multifaceted. We encourage players to explore the karma system, creating diverse narratives and exploring life's complexities."
