Jason Sudeikis, star and producer of the beloved Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, has officially confirmed that Season 4 is in the works. During a recent appearance on the New Heights sports podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce, Sudeikis shared exciting news about the continuation of the feel-good soccer series. A clip from the latest podcast episode captured the moment when the NFL brothers eagerly sought an update on the show following the conclusion of Season 3 in the summer of 2023.

Sudeikis revealed, "That's what we're writing. We're writing Season 4 now. That's the official word, yeah. Ted's coaching a women's team." This announcement marks the first solid update on the project in nearly two years, much to the relief of fans who have been eagerly awaiting more episodes.

While details such as the release date and specific plot points remain under wraps, Sudeikis hinted at Ted's new coaching role with a women's team. It's unclear whether Season 4 will be the series finale or where the story will unfold geographically. Even Travis Kelce's probing couldn't extract more information from Sudeikis, who humorously admitted, "Yeah, that's too many questions, and that's only because I don't know."

In terms of the cast, Deadline reports that Juno Temple is in negotiations to reprise her role as Keeley, while Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift are confirmed to return as Rebecca, Roy, and Leslie, respectively. The first episode of the new season is expected to be filmed in Kansas City before Ted returns to the UK, with production set to commence in July.

Apple TV+ is actively working to rekindle interest in Ted Lasso. The show's official X/Twitter account recently broke its silence with a playful post acknowledging its lengthy hiatus: "Finally found the dang password to this thing. Sorry y'all. What'd I miss?"

The last update on Ted Lasso came in the summer of 2024, when Deadline indicated that Season 4 was nearing greenlight status. For more on this critically acclaimed series, you can explore why mid-2023 was a challenging time for TV fans and read our review of the Season 3 premiere.
