While you can build friendships with nearly everyone in *Fields of Mistria*, romance is reserved for a select group of NPCs. As of the v0.13.0 update, you can pursue romance with 11 different characters, including the enigmatic Caldarus.

Each romanceable NPC has a heart meter that fills based on your interactions with them. To successfully romance a character, engage with them regularly and be mindful of their likes and dislikes. Start by **talking to them daily**, which can be easily integrated into your daily tasks around town. Regular conversation can significantly boost their affection towards you. Additionally, make it a priority to **complete any requests they post on the town board**. Fulfilling these requests provides more opportunities to increase their heart gauge.

Lastly, you can **give them a gift once per day**. Choose items that they particularly like or love, as these vary between characters. You can either gather or craft these items. On their birthday, be sure to give them an item they love, which will give an extra boost to their heart gauge. Consistently applying these strategies will help you build a strong connection swiftly.

Keep in mind that currently, NPC heart gauges can only reach **six hearts**. Upon reaching six hearts, a cutscene will play, hinting at the beginnings of a romantic connection, though not yet fully developed.

According to the game's roadmap, future updates will introduce 8 and 10-heart events for romanceable NPCs, along with options for marriage and children. So, rest assured that your budding romance in Mistria has a promising future.

Juniper, one of the romanceable characters, spends her time searching for unusual witchcraft ingredients when she's not managing the bathhouse in the northeastern part of town. To romance her, focus on visiting her, completing her town board requests, and giving her daily gifts.

Juniper has a variety of items she "likes" and "loves". You can mix and match these gifts to win her affection. Remember, her birthday falls on the **26th day of Fall**, so make sure to give her a "loved" item on that day for an extra boost to her heart gauge.

Avoid giving Juniper items she dislikes, which include all universal dislikes for NPCs and **Sod**. You can always check the status of her heart gauge in your journal under the heart icon tab.
