Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Launches with Steam Workshop, Barber Shops Added

Warhorse Studios has just rolled out a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II—version 1.2. This update brings two exciting new features to the game: native mod integration through Steam Workshop and a fresh barber shop system.

The integration of Steam Workshop makes it easier than ever to download and install mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for third-party platforms. However, this feature relies on mod creators uploading their work to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is limited, but includes some intriguing options:

  • Free Saving: This mod grants players unlimited saves by replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever it’s used or lost.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, allowing access to otherwise restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra with a unique visual effect.

Although the current mod selection is modest, the modding community is poised for rapid growth. With over a thousand mods already available on Nexus Mods, it's likely that many creators will soon share their work on both platforms. While Steam Workshop might not match the scale of Nexus Mods, popular mods are expected to make their way there soon.

In addition to mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to change their hairstyle or beard design. Choosing a new look not only refreshes your character's appearance but also temporarily boosts the protagonist's Charisma stat.

Update 1.2 is packed with more than just these new features. The extensive changelog on the game’s official website details over a thousand fixes and improvements across nearly every aspect of the game. These enhancements include balancing adjustments, refined animations, and better NPC behavior. For example, the crime system has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.

Other notable updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more realistic.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and overall performance, particularly in Kuttenberg (the largest city in the game) and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to explore these changes in more detail during a developer livestream scheduled for next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to supporting the game, with three paid DLC expansions set to release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the introduction of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a host of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an even richer medieval experience.
