Marvel Snap in the US is blocked due to Tik-Tok restrictions

Developed by California-based Second Dinner and published by ByteDance subsidiary Nuverse, Marvel Snap unexpectedly faced a ban alongside other ByteDance apps like CapCut and Lemon8, resulting in its removal from iOS and Android platforms on January 18, 2025. While PC players via Steam can still access the game, many mobile users are experiencing authorization issues and expressing frustration. Second Dinner expressed surprise at the event and is actively working to restore the game's availability, with a Platform X statement assuring players: “Marvel Snap is here to stay. We're working hard to restore the game as quickly as possible, and we'll keep players informed of our progress.” The abrupt nature of the ban, with no prior warning, is particularly upsetting for players who continued making in-app purchases.

Interestingly, not all ByteDance apps were affected. Games like Ragnarok X: 3rd Anniversary and Earth: Revival - Deep Underground remain accessible.

Recently, we discussed the addition of the Moonstone card to Marvel Snap. This Ongoing archetype card is a potential game-changer. As a 4/6 Ongoing card, Moonstone benefits from the Ongoing effects of your 1, 2, and 3-cost cards in her lane. The current selection of low-cost Ongoing cards, including Ant-Man and U.S. Agent, provides a significant pool of effects. Unlike many inexpensive Ongoing cards that primarily boost power, Moonstone's ability to passively acquire these effects allows her to quickly achieve high power levels.
