MultiVersus presented two last characters while fans threaten game developers

The saga of MultiVersus deserves a chapter in gaming history, a cautionary tale alongside the likes of the ill-fated Concorde. Yet, the game's story isn't quite over. Developers have announced the final two characters gracing the roster: Lola Bunny and Aquaman.

This announcement comes against a backdrop of growing fan frustration, with some players resorting to threats against the development team. MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh responded with a lengthy message, pleading with players to refrain from such behavior.

Huynh apologized to fans whose desired characters didn't make it into the game, expressing hope they'll still find enjoyment in the final Season 5 content. He explained that character selection is a complex process with many contributing factors, and his influence is less significant than some players may believe.

Following the shutdown announcement, some players expressed anger over their inability to spend in-game tokens on new characters—a promised benefit for purchasers of the $100 edition. This unfulfilled promise may have contributed to the escalating threats.
