NieR: Automata boasts a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to heavy hitters such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one will resonate with Square Enix fans: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats, obtainable during your first playthrough.
Where To Find the Engine Blade in NieR: Automata
The Engine Blade awaits within the factory, but not during the game's opening sequence. Access it later as 2B; Chapter 9 (accessible via Chapter Select) provides the quickest route. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point, veer right (2D camera perspective). Pass a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially lethal presses. Jump to the next cylindrical area, encountering spider-like enemies.
Take the left door, climbing stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends mid-climb, revealing an extending platform. Proceed forward (shifting to a 2D perspective), traversing the tops of presses to the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest. Beware of more exploding enemies.
Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 160-200
- Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3
This weapon allows four upgrades, culminating in a light combo of seven attacks (requires finding Masamune). Its damage range is tighter than the Iron Pipe's, offering more predictable damage output.
