The long-awaited details about the Nintendo Switch upgrade are finally here, and they surpass many expectations. The newly unveiled Nintendo Switch 2 boasts impressive features, including support for up to 120fps and 4K resolution when docked.
During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showcased a range of new features. The Nintendo Switch 2 features a larger 7.9-inch built-in screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. The screen now supports 1080p resolution at up to 120fps in handheld mode and uses an LCD panel with HDR capability. When docked, the system can deliver stunning visuals with 4K resolution and HDR.The Joy-Con 2 controllers introduce magnetic connectivity and a release button for easy detachment. The SL and SR buttons on the sides have been enlarged for better gameplay when held horizontally, and the left and right sticks are also larger. Additionally, the Joy-Con controllers now officially support mouse control.
The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with a built-in microphone featuring noise-canceling technology and 3D audio support for compatible games. The device also sports a more robust and adjustable stand, allowing for various viewing heights. A top USB port adds versatility, enabling external camera connectivity and charging in tabletop mode.
Nintendo also revealed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will have 256GB of internal storage.
