Miyamoto Musashi, renowned for his historical sword mastery, is depicted with unparalleled skill in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Beyond his combat prowess, the game also showcases his roguish and comedic side, adding depth to his character. In a nod to cinematic history, Musashi's face in the game is modeled after the legendary Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune, who famously portrayed Musashi in samurai films.

According to Capcom's press release, Onimusha: Way of the Sword is described as a dark fantasy action game centered around one of Japan's most iconic historical figures. The game is set in Kyoto, a city overtaken by an evil entity known as Malic, which is bringing Hell and its denizens into Japan. This marks the first new entry in the Onimusha series in two decades.

In addition to the excitement surrounding Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Capcom has announced the release of a remastered version of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, scheduled for May 23, 2025. This remaster aims to rekindle fans' interest and prepare them for the upcoming adventure.
