One such crucial encounter is with the Sisters of Garukhan, which appears twice during the campaign and grants a permanent +10% Lightning Resistance buff. This encounter is easy to miss, so let's dive into how to locate and activate it.

Where To Find Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter is located in the Spires of Deshar Map during Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel of the campaign. This encounter provides players with a +10% Lightning Resistance boost each time it's activated. The icon on the world map can be easily overlooked, which is why many players might miss it.

Given that every map in Path of Exile 2 is randomly generated, there's no fixed path to the Sisters of Garukhan in the Spires of Dushar. However, it's guaranteed to be on this map. You'll need to explore thoroughly until you find a shrine similar to the one shown above. Interact with it to gain the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. Be ready for a fight, as activating the shrine will awaken the chakram-wielding metal automatons that were previously dormant, triggering all automatons in the map to attack.

If you reach the checkpoint near the exit before activating the shrine, you can fast-travel back to it, avoiding the need to navigate through the entire map filled with ambushers.

How to Get +10% Lightning Resistance From Sisters of Garukhan

Upon interacting with the Sisters of Garukhan statues, the +10% Lightning Resistance is immediately applied. This buff is not an item drop nor a reward for defeating the automatons that ambush you after activating the altar; it's automatically granted upon touching the shrine.

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter repeats in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Make sure to activate the shrine both times to accumulate a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Why is +10% Lightning Resistance Not Activating

A common confusion among players is that even after activating the Sisters of Garukhan and receiving the +10% Lightning Resistance notification, their resistances might still appear negative.

This occurs because completing each Act in Path of Exile 2 automatically applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances (excluding Chaos Resistance). So, after completing Act 1, activating the Sisters of Garukhan in Act 2 will bring your Lightning Resistance to zero, as the buff cancels out the debuff. In Act 2 Cruel, your Lightning Resistance will be at -40%, which will improve to -30% after activating the shrine again.

To verify if the elemental resistance buffs from the campaign are active, remove all gear and check your resistances in the endgame. If you see -40% across all resistances, you haven't missed any buffs.
